Bank of Baroda Select Credit Card

Bank of Baroda (BoB) Select Credit Card Review

Bank of Baroda has been vying for a bigger share in the credit card market for quite some time. It has some good credit cards and of late has also been tying up with merchants for cashback offers. BoB Select is one such entry-level credit card that is easy to get approved for and offers good rewards. Here is a review of the Bank of Baroda (BoB) Select credit card features and benefits.

BoB Select Credit Card Review: Fees and Charges

BoB Select offers reward points as per the spend category. Dining, Utility Bills, and Online Spending get an accelerated earn rate.

  • Dining, Utility Bills and Online Spends: 5 RP/Rs 100 – Cap of 1000 RP per month ~1.25% Return
  • Other Categories: 1 RP/Rs 100 ~0.25% Return

The reward points can be redeemed at 1 RP = 25 paise for a statement credit. So, this card is as good as a cashback card. There are no redemption charges as well.

Should you get the BoB Select credit card?

The 1.25% reward rate on online spending is a little too less with all the amazing credit cards on the market today. But, it is not a bad deal for an LTF card. You can get either the Select or Premier credit cards to use the merchant offers from BoB. BoB brings 10% discount offers on Amazon, Cred, etc. So, you can get some benefits with this card.

Final Thoughts

BoB Select used to be one of the best entry-level credit cards in the market thanks to an earlier bonus rewards feature. This changed with the withdrawal of the bonus reward points feature from 15-Sep-2021. Soon after, BoB started offering this card as LTF and I don’t see it going back to an annual fee-bearing card.

There are many credit cards that offer better cashback rewards today. Some of them are SBI Cashback, Axis Ace, and HDFC Millennia.
