Online shopping has become our go-to for most of our needs. It can be for day-to-day purchases like grocery or even expensive items like mobile phones. HDFC Bank Infinia Credit Card – The Best Option
The top of the list is the super-premium cards from HDFC Bank – Infinia. It offers an excellent rewards rate for shopping on Amazon through HDFC’s own Smartbuy Portal. While the reward rate used to be 10X earlier, it has now dropped to 5X but it is still good.
The normal reward rate on these cards is 5 points per Rs 150 spent. 5X takes this to 25 points per Rs 150. The reward rate is worth:
- 16.7% when redeemed for Smartbuy hotels/flights and Tanishq gift vouchers (1 RP = Rs 1)
- 8.3% when redeemed for Amazon gift vouchers (1 RP = 50 paise)
- 5% when redeemed for Cash (1 RP = 30 paise)

HDFC Bank Diners Club Black Credit Card
The second card is also from HDFC Bank – Diners Club Black. We get 3X rewards for shopping on Amazon India through HDFC Bank’s Smartbuy portal.
The normal reward rate on these cards is 5 points per Rs 150 spent. 3X takes this to 15 points per Rs 150. The reward rate is worth:
- 10% when redeemed for Smartbuy hotels/flights (1 RP = Rs 1)
- 5% when redeemed for Amazon gift vouchers (1 RP = 50 paise)

ICICI Bank Amazon Pay – LTF / Good Rewards
Amazon India introduced its own credit card in a tie-up with ICICI Bank in 2019 and it is one of the best credit cards for shopping on Amazon India. The USP of the ICICI Bank Amazon Pay card is its fees – LTF while providing great rewards. This is what makes this card click even if there are other super-premium cards providing better cashback/rewards.

SBI Simply Click – Handy for Festive Sales
Though not advertised much, SBI Simply Click is a really good card not only for Amazon India purchases but any kind of online purchases. The card comes with a joining/annual fee of Rs 500 which is waived on relatively lower spending of Rs 1L annually. Amazon India is one of the 10X partners for SBI Simply Click card which earns accelerated rewards. On Amazon spends, the rewards are:
- 2.5% rewards back in the form of Amazon vouchers on redemption
- 2% rewards as Cleartrip gift vouchers – Rs 2000 GV on spend milestones of Rs 1 Lakh and 2 Lakhs each

In addition, SBI Card is almost always one of the card partners at Amazon India sale periods offering 10% instant discount. So, you can double dip during this time to get an increased value back.
Final Thoughts
While HDFC Diners Club Black / Infinia are the best rewarding credit cards for Amazon India, not everyone would be eligible for it with the criteria that HDFC Bank sets for them. Plus, both these cards bear a hefty renewal fees and is not useful for for lesser spending.
This is where the ICICI Amazon Pay card and SBI Simply Click card come in. These cards are both relatively easier to get qualified for and come as LTF/low spend fee waivers which makes these suited for a majority of the people.
