We get so many queries on the best credit cards for buying gold, silver or diamond jewellery offline. So, thought of creating a single thread to list down the best credit cards to use for these offline gold purchases. Do comment and reply with your choice so that I can add it to existing list.
Best Credit Cards for Gold Jewellery Purchases - Rewards and Airmiles
- Amex Platinum Travel Credit Card - We get both regular and milestone MR points on purchasing from any of the jewelllery shops. The big ones like Malabar, Tanishq and Kalyan already support Amex. But, for other stores do try out Amex Plat Travel for your next purchase. It would give you up to 40K bonus MR points in milestone benefits and also a 10K Taj voucher on total Rs 4 Lakh spend.
- Club Vistara IDFC First Bank Credit Card - With the Air India - Vistara merger approaching, this card is also one of my best picks. We earn 6 CV Points on spends up to Rs. 1 Lakh per statement cycle and 4 CV Points on spends after that. We also get premium economy tickets on milestone spends of Rs 1.5L, Rs 3L, Rs 4.5L, Rs 9L and Rs 12L.
- HDFC Bank Diners Club Black and HDFC Bank Infinia Credit Card - These super-premium credit cards need no introduction. Infinia and DCB both earn 3.3% reward points on gold purchase and other jewellery spends. DCB though has one more trick up its sleeves. We get a milestone benefit of 10000 bonus RP on Rs 4 Lakhs spend in a calendar quarter. This is an extra 2.5% reward rate.
- Yes Bank Marquee Credit Card - We get 2.25% rewards on offline gold & jewellery spends.
- Yes Bank Reserv Credit Card - The Yes Reserv card will get you 1.5% rewards on offline gold purchases. But, what changes the game for Reserve is you get 4.5% once you subscribe to the 3X rewards plan.
