While upgrades to Regalia Gold or Diners Club Privilege are easy to come by, we don’t frequently see the same for Infinia and DCB. But, does this mean we can’t upgrade to those? No, we can upgrade from to the super premium DCB Metal and also invite-only Infinia. Here is how you can do it.

Upgrade to HDFC Bank Infinia Credit Card

We need to meet two criteria for being eligible to upgrade to Infinia:
  1. You need to have a minimum limit of Rs 8 Lakhs on your existing HDFC Bank credit card. It can be any variant like Regalia or Diners Club Privilege.
  2. You should have minimum spends of Rs 9 Lakhs in the previous 6 months.
  3. The existing credit card should be at least 6 months old.

Upgrade to HDFC Bank Diners Club Black Metal Edition Credit Card

We need to meet two criteria for being eligible to upgrade to DCB Metal Edition:
  1. You need to have a minimum limit of Rs 5 Lakhs on your existing HDFC Bank credit card. It can be any variant like Regalia or Diners Club Privilege.
  2. You should have minimum spends of Rs 5 Lakhs in the previous 6 months.
  3. The existing credit card should be at least 6 months old.

How to request for the upgrade to Infinia and DCB Metal Edition

We need to drop an email to Grievance.Redressalcc@hdfcbank.com requesting for the upgrade.

They will check the eligibility and confirm regarding the upgrade. After that, they will send us the upgrade form to be filled up. You can fill, scan and send it over email. There is no need to send it by post.

Within 2-3 working days, your upgrade to Infinia/DCB will be processed and you can see your new credit card in HDFC NetBanking.

Apply for Diners Club Metal Credit Card via C2C

You can also apply for a Diners Club Metal credit card via C2C applications at select branches. You need to have an existing non co-branded credit card from any issuer for more than a year and have a limit of at least Rs 5 Lakh on it.

I recently got the upgrade from DCB to infinia. Had the CL of 14L on DCB and good history with HDFC bank (salary account from 11 years, satisfied their salary criteria for infinia). Spends on DCB in last 6 months were around 4L but overall credit card spends were around 9L. Sent them mail asking for upgrade to Infinia, cited the DCB acceptability issues, shared other CC statements where spends were done and got the upgrade. So if anyone is having DCB and good cumulative spends on CCs can give a shot taking this route.

I have Regalia Gold, Tata Neu credit card on which total spent amount is more than 10lac tried emailing to the Grievance for upgrade, but they rejected saying that salary criteria are not met. I have read at many places that salary is not valid but now they are thoroughly checking for salary as well.

I was told to this and was made aware this is possible for DCB LTF (Non Metal). Is it still possible?

I am told after Winter / Spring sometime this has stopped.

The criteria is updated as per recent info. Now, we need to make Rs 9 Lakhs spend in last 6 months on existing HDFC Bank credit card to request an upgrade.

I spent more than 12 lacks in last 6 months and having a monthly salary of 2.75 lacks. Still they rejected my request. Any pointers to get the upgrade from DCB to infinia ?
