HDFC Bank is one of the few credit card issuers which regularly gives spend-based offers for all its card variants. Looks like HDFC Bank is not keeping any stones unturned to increase spends from existing cardholders thanks to the RBI ban on issuing new credit cards. This is the third consecutive month for which HDFC Bank has sent a spent offer. While the rewards have gone up, so has the target spend for me. 🙂 Here are the spend offer details from HDFC credit cards for May 2021.

While it is good to see HDFC Bank being aggressive in sending out spend-based offers, the target spend has seen a steep increase for me this time. It is a 3.5X increase in spend target from last month – probably because I met the target spend sent last month. A few changes this time round:
- The spend offer has been sent early this time – 7th of the month compared to the 12th last month. This is good as we get more time to do the spending.
- Amazon is out as an option for the gift voucher. It is mostly the reason, I used to go for these offers. It is was also the most redeemed option.
The reward rate has taken a huge drop for me as per the offer sent to me. It is a low 1.4% from the voucher.
