If you hold the HDFC Bank Diners Club Privilege Credit Card, there are a few important changes coming to your benefits and fee structure in 2026. HDFC Bank is updating its policies regarding complimentary airport lounge access, reward point accumulation, and international transaction fees to ensure sustainable value for cardmembers.
Here is a complete breakdown of the upcoming changes and how you can continue to maximize your credit card benefits.
Spend-Based Airport Lounge Access
The most notable change involves how cardholders unlock complimentary airport lounge visits. Starting July 1, 2026, lounge access will shift to a spend-based model.
- The New Requirement: You must spend ₹60,000 or more in the preceding calendar quarter to unlock lounge benefits for the following quarter.
- The Benefit: Meeting this threshold grants you 2 Domestic and 1 International lounge visits per calendar quarter.
- How it Works: To access lounges between July and September 2026, your total card spends between April and June 2026 must be at least ₹60,000.
Revised Reward Points Earnings
Your everyday spending will see a new earning structure taking effect on May 15, 2026.
- New Earning Rate: You will earn 4 Reward Points for every ₹200 spent across all eligible categories.
- Redemption: You can continue to redeem these accumulated points for travel bookings, shopping vouchers, and cashback exactly as you do today.

Updates to Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC)
If you frequently travel abroad or shop on international websites, take note of the new fee structure for specific transactions starting May 15, 2026.
- The Fee: A Dynamic Currency Conversion markup of 1.75% will be applied.
- When it Applies: This fee triggers on any international transaction carried out in Indian Rupees at an overseas location. It also applies to INR transactions made with merchants located in India but officially registered in a foreign nation.
Card Reissuance Fee Introduced
Replacing a physical credit card will now incur a minor processing charge. Effective May 15, 2026, HDFC Bank will implement a fee for card replacement.
- The Cost: A flat fee of ₹199 will be charged for the reissuance of a lost, stolen, or damaged card. This covers the cost of secure processing, handling, and monitored dispatch.

Lifetime FreeHow to Maximize Your Card Benefits
Keeping your travel benefits active now requires a bit of calculated spending. The simplest way to hit that ₹60,000 quarterly target is to make this your go-to card for everyday expenses. By routing your utility bills, grocery runs, and dining out through the Diners Club Privilege, the threshold becomes much easier to clear. This secures your lounge access while steadily building up your reward points.
But if this currently sits in your wallet as just a backup card, you will definitely want to rethink your strategy.
