Did you apply for a credit card and it got rejected without a valid reason? Or, did you not receive a proper response on the credit card application? For these and many other issues that you may face when using credit cards, we generally reach out to customer care and then escalate it. But what happens if you do not get a proper response from the bank? This is where the RBI can step in. We can log a complaint with RBI with all relevant details.
Here is a step by step guide on how to log a credit card complaint with RBI.

Click on 'File a Complaint' button
Enter the captcha for validation
Enter your full name and mobile number. Validate it with the OTP.
Enter your email, complainant category as 'Individual', Age, Gender, State and District of Residence, Address and Pincode
Then choose the Entity Name - this will be your credit card issuer and choose 'Is your complaint related to credit card as Yes
Read and choose the remaining questions on this page as No as applicable. Click Next to proceed.
This is where you need to have all previous references and emails for the complaint you lodged with the bank. Choose this option as Yes. Provide all details of your complaint including emails as attachments. Include the complaint number where available. You should have sent at least one reminder to the entity for your complaint. Provide your credit card number if available. At least 30 days should have passed since you logged the complaint with the bank. The date of disputed transaction can be the date of application for credit card in case the issue is for a credit card application
Enter the complaint category and any compensation that you want to claim because of the issue you faced. This will be decided as per RBI's decision
That's it. Submit the complaint and you will get a reference number. Now, we need to wait for RBI to follow up with the bank. In most cases, the bank will get back to use with a resolution. But, it takes some time.
